Blessed To Be A Part Of Her Circle of Life

As this school year rapidly comes to an end, I’m overwhelmed with emotions that I don’t understand completely.  As I look through my student files I see the tremendous growth that each of my kiddos have made.  Yes, first grade is truly an amazing year of growth!   I smile, knowing that I’m just one of the many teachers they will encounter along their educational journey.  It makes my heart swell to know I was a small part.

I will miss the kiddos, but I will also miss the daily contact I have with the teachers I work with. My bestest teaching buddy is the one I will miss the most. I am definitely blessed to be able to teach 1st grade with her. Some people thought I had totally lost my mind when I decided to switch from 4th grade to 1st grade. To be honest, I had never even considered teaching 1st grade until I saw her personal interaction with her firsties. What love and compassion she has for them! Truly a gift! I knew I wanted the opportunity to work with her.

For the past few years, our friendship has deepened as we shared pieces of our lives with each other.   She has taught me so much, most of which is not even possible to obtain from reading any type of book.   There are some teachers that you just want to be more like.  She is absolutely one of those teachers.  As I talk to her, I am like a sponge, trying to absorb as much information as I can.

Thankfully, our friendship goes beyond the normal teacher/friend relationship.  She is special and I feel honored and blessed to be a part of her circle of life.   We will see each other throughout the summer, but I will definitely miss the daily interaction with her.

Blessings everyone!
