It's Nice to Feel Special ~ My Favorite Follower Award

Shawna over at The Picture Book Teacher's Edition, surprised me today by awarding me the "Favorite Follower Award."  She very sweetly reminded me that I was her first follower!  I just love being someones very first follower.   It's like making a new friend that nobody else has met yet!!!  If you are not following her blog yet, you need to get over there immediately!  She reviews pictures books and posts activities to go with them.    Thank you Shawna for making me feel special!

The rules of the award are to pass it on to TWO of my favorite followers.  So... I would like to pass it on to Holly over at Crisscross Applesauce in First Grade and to Barbara over at Grade ONEderful.   They leave the nicest comments and I always look forward to reading them.  Thank you ladies!

Crisscross Applesauce

I know this is breaking the rules, but I have one other favorite follower that you positively must check out.  Hop on over to see Tammy at Klinger Cafe'.  She is one of the sweetest bloggers I know!

I am officially ready to go to bed now.  I told my husband I would be there in a few minutes and I think I hear him snoring.  I guess it was more than a few minutes!!

I'm So Sorry... But I Quit!!!

For the last hour I have been searching through all my favorite blogs trying to find someone ANYONE that has not been given the Versatile Blogger Award.  Do you know how frustrating that is???? I'm sorry!!! But I quit!!!   I can't do it anymore!!!  I still have over 300 more of my favorite blogs to check on to see if they have received it, but I've decided to let it go!!!!!

Wow!!! I feel such a weight lifted off my shoulders.

I want to apologize to any blogger out there that has not received the award.  I will gladly give you mine!!!! It's too stressful!!!!

Now... to get back to stalking all my favorite blogs.

Stressful Day and an Award

What an absolutely wonderful day! Well, not so much, but more about that later when I spill my guts about myself.

On to some exciting news! I just realized that I have been recognized as a Versatile Blogger by two different bloggers. See, I told you that it was pretty exciting! I feel so honored. Thank you so much to Jessica at Apples & Papers and also Sara at Smiling in Second Grade. If you haven't made it over to their blogs, you really should go take a look.

Here are the rules for the Versatile Blogger Award:

  • Thank the person/people that nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.
  • Share 7 things about yourself.
  • Pass this award along to 15 other blogs that you have discovered.

Thank you again Jessica & Sara! I am tickled pink that people are reading my blog!

Here are 7 things about me. (I think you will know me a little better when you finish reading them)

  • I am ABSOLUTELY terrified of the dentist. In fact, that is why my day was not so wonderful. I had 2 cavities and today was my much dreaded appointment to have major surgery. Well, okay, it wasn't major surgery, but when you hear all those loud noises coming out of your mouth...it is downright scary!!! As a matter of fact, I was so stressed that I took the whole day off! Just so you really understand that I have issues, my dentist will write me a prescription for ONE valium anytime I go to her. And...my last words to her today were...I don’t like you. She told me I did great!!! Isn’t there a treasure chest I should be able to pick something out of or something??
  • I never had children and that has always left a big empty space in my life. I don’t think anyone can really understand how painful that is (and continues to be), unless you have experienced it.
  • My husband and I dated for 11 years before we decided to get married. I totally broke his heart when he proposed and I told him I would have to think about it!! (What the heck was I thinking! I’ve got the most awesome man in the world!)
  • I love to read and I usually finish the book in one day. I enjoy almost every kind of book. I just discovered the library at my church and I immediately checked out 5 books. I hope that was legal!!!
  • I love to sing Karaoke! I definitely don’t have a professional voice...but hey... when I’m singing I think I totally rock! (I can’t for the life of me understand why my dogs leave the room as soon as I get out the microphone!! How rude!)
  • I don’t like to go to parties and try to avoid them (especially baby showers) or any event that has a lot of people there. It forces me to step out of my comfort zone.
  • I cry easily. Enough said. I could cry just writing about crying. And besides crying makes me think about my most recent cry, which was going to the dentist...and I can’t go through that memory again right now!!
So there it is...seven things about me that I have exposed to my blogger friends. As if that wasn't hard enough, now I need to choose 5 other bloggers to pass the Versatile Blogger Award to. I'm exhausted from too much stress today...So, I'm going to wait until tomorrow!  I hope the blogger patrol isn't out there waiting and tries to strip my award from me.  Until tomorrow...

Don't You Just Love Getting An Award!!

I’m so excited! I was given a Blog Award for up and coming blogs! Up and coming! I absolutely like the sound of that. I’m trying not to let this Blog Award go to my head!!! I think I might have a future here in Blogland!!!! A special thank you to Barbara over at Grade ONEderful, Amy over at the Resource(ful) Room and Miss Squirrels over at Going Nutty in Miss Squirrel's First Grade for thinking of me!

The goal of the award is to spotlight up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers. The rules are:

1. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
2. Thank the giver and link back to them.
3. Reveal your top 5 picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
4. Hope that your followers will spread the love to other bloggers!!

Without further ado... these are the 5 marvelous blogs that I’m passing the award on to. Congratulations!

Sunshine Award

I am beyond excited.  I have been noticed in this awesome world of blogging!   Oh my goodness – my heart be still!!!!   Thank you Holly for giving me the Sunshine Award!! Head on over to her blog and check it out -  Crisscross Applesauce in First Grade.  Love it!  She introduced me to Tony Chestnut. I’m waiting anxiously for my CD to arrive!!!  We are going to be rocking out in 1st Grade.

Rules for the Sunshine Award:

  1. Thank the person who gave this award and write a post about it.
  2. Answer the following questions below.
  3. And pass the award to 10~12 fabulous bloggers, link their blogs and let them know you awarded them.
  • Favorite Color?  I love black!  All of my kiddos think I am kidding when I tell them that, but it is 100% true!
  • Favorite Animal?  Dog!  Definitely dog.  I can’t imagine my life without a dog.  Cute, adorable, loving... need I say more?
  • Favorite Number? 33 – maybe someday I’ll understand why!!!
  • Favorite Drink?  A cold glass of water just can’t be beat!
  • Facebook or Twitter?  Haven’t explored Twitter yet.  Facebook – of course, but I tear myself away from blogging to spend time there.
  • Your Passion? I love the Lord with all my heart and every day I want to love him even more.
  • Giving or Getting Presents?  I love both.  A little confession...I’m not the best at picking out gifts for friends and family!
  • Favorite day? Saturday.  It’s all about me (and my husband, and my dogs, and my family, and lesson plans, etc.)  Okay – so it’s not all about me.  But I do try to sleep in late.
  • Favorite flowers? Roses - (If I use my imagination I can almost smell them!)
I’m not sure how I will ever be able to give this award to just 10 bloggers.  Seriously...the blogging world of teachers has changed my life completely.    Since I'm not a huge rule breaker, I'll abide by the rule of 10.
