Help!!!! I'm One Frustrated Lady!

I've always thought that I was a fairly intelligent person.  But then the blogging world entered into my life!!!!  It is like a hobby that has entirely taken over my life.  Well, maybe not entirely, but sometimes it sure feels like it.  I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about something I found on a blog... and then I can't get back to sleep because I'm thinking about how I can ... well ... anyways... it has entered my dream world and that is starting to scare me!!!


My husband is getting a bit jealous of my computer.  Crazy!!!! I know!!!.  I'm sure that this jealousy thing has never happened to any of your spouses because you all have enough sense to step away from the computer after a few minutes or so...  I'm thinking I need to take a week off, a few days,  some time off from the blogging world to spend some quality time with him!!  Maybe I'll surprise him with a delicious candlelight dinner tomorrow.


But...before I do.... I need your help.  I want to do a link party (because they are so fun!) but I can't figure out for the life of me how to put the link on my blog that you link to.  I have searched...and searched... I GIVE UP!  Please help me!!   Please....   I'm relatively new to this...so I sure hope it's not too difficult.

I'm so Excited!!! I Just Can't Hide It!!!

I did it!  I decided to join the world of TPT.  If you would like to see my first product, please go check it out.  Since my kiddos continue to have problems with contractions, I made another contraction game for them.  Being new to this game, I would love some constructive criticism!!  So... please help me out and let me know if you download and give me some helpful comments.  Enjoy your days off!!

I'm Not Thankful... Link Party

Jennifer over at First Grade Blue Skies is having a different sort of link party.  Come on over to the party, and spill your guts about a few things that you are not thankful for.   Admit it!  You know there are several things in this big world that you are not thankful for!!  To be truthful, it kinda scared me that I immediately came up with a few.  What does that really say about me?   It leaves me pondering about myself.  Not!!!    I did however decide to limit myself to 5.  I don’t know what the rule is, but 5 works for me.  I don’t want to appear to be too unthankful.  With that being said, here are my top 5:

1. Spaghetti.  Do I look anything like a napkin?  I don’t think so!!  Love the hugs, but when those angels burrow their cute faces into my clothing, I immediately start to worry about what the cafeteria served for lunch.
2. Papers with Foreign Matter on Them.   My smile immediately leaves my face when I start to grade a paper and realize there is a dampness on it that resembles snot!    Eeeew!  I’ve seen blood, holes in a paper because my angel didn’t have an eraser and decided spit worked just fine, and other matter that I don’t even want to think about! 
3. Back Seat Drivers.  I’m not a bad driver...why do people need those imaginary brakes!  Good grief the car is 500 feet in front of me!!
4. Ice with no Coke.  I would appreciate a little bit of Coke with my ice.  Seriously!  I paid $2.00 for a cup of ice. 
5. Popping Gum.  At the movies... in church... on an airplane... the list could go on and on.  The constant popping drives me crazy!

• Favorite day? Saturday.  It’s all about me (and my husband, and my dogs, and my family, and lesson plans, etc.)  Okay – so it’s not all about me.  But I do try to sleep in late.
• Favorite flowers? Roses - (If I use my imagination I can almost smell them!)

I’m not sure how I will ever be able to give this award to just 10 bloggers.  Seriously...the blogging world of teachers has changed my life completely.    Since I'm not a huge rule breaker, I'll abide by the rule of 10.

Dropbox - It Will Rock Your World!!!

     I finally ventured out into another very unfamiliar part of CyberWorld. I always seem to be the last person on the block to find out about all the really cool stuff out there, so I'm sure most of you have already discovered Dropbox!
     This summer I began to read about Dropbox, but I never dreamed it could be so useful!   Finally, my annoying  persistent brother talked me into downloading (yikes!!! I hate downloading things I'm not 100% confident with).   But I did it!!!!  Oh my goodness I love it! In fact, I can't imagine life without it now!!!  How crazy is that???
     I create most of my school documents at home (in my spare time!!) and then I would have to send them to school through email, or use a thumbdrive, or even worse.. I took my laptop to school with me. Those days are over!!!!
      Dropbox is a free service that lets you save your photos, docs, and videos anywhere. You can even share files with other people (if they have Dropbox downloaded on their computer)!

Favorite Thanksgiving Book Link Party

I have so many favorite Thanksgiving books, this was tough!  After thinking about it for a few days a few minutes, I finally decided that Ankle Soup by Maureen Sullivan has to be the one!  This book is from the view point (ankle-high of course) of Carlos, a French Bulldog on Thanksgiving Day in New York City.  Carlos goes on a cab ride through New York City, past the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, to Grand Central Station. He sees acts of kindness along his way.  Cute book that rhymes with beautiful paintings!  Love it!

Thanksgiving Uno Game

Oh my!  I spent a few hours the entire day working on creating a simple game for my firsties today!!!  How on earth do you wonderful  bloggers do it!!!  I am standing and applauding each and every single one of you (standing because my bottom is sore)!!!  If by chance, you can hear the clapping, you probably heard the sobbing celebration when this little game was all finished.  With all that being said, I hope that there is someone else out there besides me that can use this.  If you have any questions... or comments... or love ... please send some my way.  I’m officially going to enjoy the rest of my weekend now!!

Thanksgiving Contraction Freebie

My little firsties have been working hard on contractions for the past week weeks.  Some are still struggling a bit, so I created this to give them more practice.   I hope that someone else can use it!

Common Core Math Resource
