First, I get to spend an hour playing my clarinet with about 10
other wonderful musicians. One of these days I’m going to be as good as they
are…but until
that happens I will continue to spend hours practicing to be able to play what
comes so easily for them. I have a lot to catch up on since I stopped
playing over 30 years ago. I think I am
getting better though. Even my orchestra
conductor told me he didn’t hear me squeal last Sunday! Yip! I
am definitely improving.
Immediately after orchestra practice I quickly head down the dark hallway
to practice with our church bell choir. This
hour is sometimes quite stressful. I’m
still trying to figure out the basics of playing them. I love watching people play them…they seem to be so graceful and beautiful. I don’t
think I have attained this look yet. I’m
working on it though and I will continue to practice…practice…practice and
I’ll fight through the stress.
I love that you are trying something new! I have always wanted to play the french horn and have never made the time or effort. Maybe, just maybe I will... :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are very brave to get out there and try to play again. I played viola years ago in middle school. I not very musical though. Keep trying and good luck. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love that you've taken on not one but two lovely musical outlets! I've been talking to myself about finding a local choral group to join. Thanks for the added inspiration!
