First, I get to spend an hour playing my clarinet with about 10 other wonderful musicians. One of these days I’m going to be as good as they are…but until that happens I will continue to spend hours practicing to be able to play what comes so easily for them. I have a lot to catch up on since I stopped playing over 30 years ago. I think I am getting better though. Even my orchestra conductor told me he didn’t hear me squeal last Sunday! Yip! I am definitely improving.
Immediately after orchestra practice I quickly head down the dark hallway to practice with our church bell choir. This hour is sometimes quite stressful. I’m still trying to figure out the basics of playing them. I love watching people play them…they seem to be so graceful and beautiful. I don’t think I have attained this look yet. I’m working on it though and I will continue to practice…practice…practice and I’ll fight through the stress.
