The Dreaded Call... Slice of Life...Day 2

As I went to bed last time, I knew that I would most likely be awakened by the anticipated dreaded call.

It was just a matter of time.
There was absolutely no stopping it.

It had been the topic of conversation for days with everyone I had surrounded myself with.

It was a long, exhaustive night.

I found myself constantly tossing and turning and the restlessness continued throughout the night.

My mind wouldn’t go to sleep... anticipating the call that I knew would eventually wake me up.

Finally at 7:00 I realized that everything was okay... for now.

The predicted bad weather had not yet arrived.

  2. You are a master at keeping tension going in this piece! I was fully wondering how it was all going to end. But, then I applied my schema -- what we're currently going through (or not going through, more aptly put) in the midwest and I figured it would all end up OK. :) Nice! b

  4. We got the call yesterday. AGAIN. Don't know if any school in Oklahoma is open today.
Glad to stay at home today all safe and warm, but dreading making up another day.
